A trip the market turned into one lucky New Jersey lottery player into a millionaire.
The ticket sold in Monmouth County won $4 million by matching the five white balls in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing and having the Megaplier option. The winning ticket was sold at the Laurel Market on Laurel Avenue in Hazlet Township, the New Jersey Lottery announced.
In addition to the big winner, 28 other New Jersey tickets matched four white balls to win $500 each, with five of those having the Megaplier to increase the prize to $2,000. The New Jersey Lottery stated that 30,963 other tickets sold in Jersey players took home $174,674.
Five new Mega millionaires nationwide
In addition to the New Jersey winner, tickets sold in Indiana and Oregon also won $4 million with the Megaplier, while tickets from Connecticut and Virginia to win $1 million each, according to the Mega Millions website.
Meanwhile, no one won the jackpot so the grand prize will climb to an estimated $306 million with a cash option of $143.8 million.
The jackpot was last won on June 4 when a lottery player in Illinois won $552 million - the ninth largest Mega Millions ever.

The cost is $2 per ticket, but you can add the Megaplier for $1, which will increase the amount of your potential prize up to five times the original prize (except for the jackpot).
